Leicester City are eyeing Carlos Corberan to replace Enzo Maresca

Enzo Maresca is very close to leaving Leicester City after one season with Chelsea who will announce the Italian coach as their new manager soon.
The Blues have identified the 44-year-old player as the man they want to replace Mauricio Pochettino who has been impressed with the work of the Leicester manager in the Championship this season as he guided the Foxes to the top.
This was Maresca’s only campaign in English football, meaning that Chelsea took a huge risk by hiring the Italian coach.
Leicester will now need to replace Maresca to return to the Premier League and talkSPORT football editor Jason Bourne has suggested they could target West Brom’s Carlos Corberan as their next manager.
Bourne told X: “It’s still early days, but a few of us at talkSPORT are hearing Carlos Corberan’s name as a possible target for Leicester, if Enzo Maresca continues.”
Corberan is a highly regarded manager in the Championship given his versatile style of play and has been linked with a number of jobs in the past, such as Leeds United.
Carlos Corberan will have a tough job at Leicester City
Corberan helped West Brom reach the Championship play-offs this season but fell to Southampton in the semi-finals. Nevertheless, it was a good season for the Birmingham club, who will not want to lose their manager as they enter the 2024/25 campaign.
If the Spaniard joins Leicester, he will have a tough job on his hands as financial restrictions will prevent the Foxes from spending big this summer.
This will worry them when they return to the Premier League as all the teams that were promoted last season have been relegated this season. Corberan could make Leicester the strongest team in England’s top flight, but without spending big, it will be a very difficult task.
