Man Utd predicted to face Arsenal

The clock is ticking on Erik ten Hag’s reign, but the Manchester United boss has time to all but end Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes.

There is little to suggest that United can get a result against the underdog Gunners this weekend, but there is no doubt that the Red Devils will be looking to rectify their disappointing form at Crystal Palace on Monday night.

Their 4-0 defeat was the latest humiliation under the Ten Hag’s watch.

Things could be bleak for the hosts this weekend given Arsenal’s goal-scoring nature, but, on the bright side, the Ten Hag should welcome a few key players into their matchday squad.

GK: Andre Onana – There have been quite a few in United’s squad this season, but summer arrival Onana has been one of them.

RB: Diogo Dalot – The Portuguese full-back can play on either side, while Ten Hag could make a strong effort to slow down Bukayo Saka at the other end.

CB: Scott McTominay – After Casemiro’s disastrous display at Palace, surely Brazil will not be in the firing line against Arsenal? Scott McTominay, who is not 100% fit, is by no means an ideal solution but there are few other options.

CB: Jonny Evans – The veteran defender will be called upon again given United’s long list of defenders. Evans recently returned from a spell out.

LB: Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Wan-Bissaka has provided some flexibility this quarter, and could be sent to cover for Saka this weekend.

CM: Casemiro – Things got worse for Casemiro, who Jamie Carragher said was “finished” at the highest level. He may need to be moved back into midfield here, ahead of the equally ineffective Christian Eriksen.

CM: Kobbie Mainoo Mainoo-mania has been quiet since his Federico Macheda-esque strike against Liverpool in April.

RM: Alejandro Garnacho – Like Mainoo, Garnacho has endured a few weeks in the middle of a very promising campaign. Can he produce a big performance against the Gunners on Sunday?

AM: Bruno Fernandes – After missing his club’s first game due to injury last season, Fernandes should return to captain United at Old Trafford. There are doubts about his status, however.

LM: Marcus Rashford – Rashford is back in training and in contention for the visit of Arsenal. The defender has been out of action this season, but has often scored against the Gunners.

ST: Rasmus Hojlund – The Danish striker has been cold since returning from injury, but that purple streak at the start of the year has shown he is worth the patience.
