In England vs Pakistan – the game is abandoned
The first T20I between England and Pakistan was called off even before the scheduled start time after heavy, incessant rain lashed Leeds for most of the day. Puddles had started to form on the ground long before the umpires came out to assess the conditions, and it didn’t take them long to figure out that there was no point in delaying the inevitable.
“We had a good few days of preparation and everyone was very excited about the series,” he said. “I think getting the England kit back and playing cricket in England is amazing. So it’s really disappointing today, not playing, but we still have three games to look forward to.”

The teams are scheduled to play three more games before flying to the World Cup – at Edgbaston on Saturday, Cardiff on Tuesday, and The Oval a week on Thursday.
