PAK vs BAN [WATCH]: Abdullah Shafique walks the pack with a brilliant strike by Taskin Ahmed on day 2 of the 2nd Test

Second test match in between Pakistan again Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium got off to a spectacular start on Day 2, when the hosts lost their first wicket to a stunning delivery from Taskin Ahmed.

After a rain-soaked first day, Bangladesh won the toss and opted for a green pitch, hoping to exploit Pakistan’s vulnerability against swing bowling. This decision was successful as Taskin, returning to the team, bowled the first over.

Abdullah Shafique falls to Taskin Ahmed’s inswinger

Pakistani launcher Abdullah Shafiqwho was in excellent form in this series, was dismissed for a duck. Taskin, swinging a long backhand delivery to the right hand, tempts Shafique into a forward prod. However, the batsman’s bat came down at an angle, leaving a gap between the bat and the pad. The ball crashed high on the off-stump, sending Shafique packing.

Taskin’s wicket had a huge impact on Pakistan, who were looking to bounce back from their defeat in the first Test. The early success boosted Bangladesh’s spirits, and they continued to put pressure on Pakistan’s batting line-up.

Pakistan’s first innings struggle

Despite the early setbacks, Pakistan’s batting order is able to establish a solid partnership. The pitch, with lots of grass will continue to help the bowlers, making it difficult for the batsmen to score runs freely.

Bangladesh bowlers, led by Taskin and experienced Shakib al Hasanwill be looking to bowl with a straight and accurate length. They constantly troubled Pakistan’s batsmen, forcing them to play defensive shots and preventing them from batting freely.

Pakistan’s combat system

As the day progresses, Pakistan’s batting line-up will really start to show resilience, with Babar Azam again Shan Masood to be the king in trying to rebuild the innings. However, Bangladesh’s bowlers remain relentless, and Pakistan’s battle will be tough to figure out after a shaky start on the track.

Pakistan is struggling to recover from its early troubles. Bangladesh’s performance has put them in a strong position to secure a series win. The next session will be very important for Pakistan, as they will need to bat with commitment and build a total to stay in the tournament.
