Ryan Garcia Publicly Thanks Gervonta Davis For Support Amid PED Controversy

Ryan Garcia took to social media today to thank his former opponent, Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, for his support regarding the PED issues surrounding his last fight against Devin Haney on April 20th.

Undefeated lightweight champion Tank Davis defended Ryan (25-1, 20 KOs) yesterday on X in response to the results of his B sample that reportedly contained the banned PED Ostarine.

Since then, Ryan’s legal team said they will have a hair follicle test, which came back negative for Ostarine. The New York Athletic Commission, which will be deciding on Ryan’s case this summer, will have to contribute to the new test results.

Tank Davis Defends Ryan Garcia’s Integrity

“Shout out to Gervonta Davis. Bro, really, brother. NO F***** CAP,” Ryan Garcia told X, responding to Tank Davis who was supporting him, saying, “He didn’t cheat.

“As expected, he tested positive for sample B. Now he has to talk to the New York Commission, they will clarify his future,” said Eddie Hearn, Devin Haney’s promoter, who spoke to Boxing News about Ryan Garcia.

Hearn’s Standing: No-Contest and Non-Contest

“You can’t just say, ‘Don’t worry, guys. I sent the hair to one of my scientists, who said everything was fine.’ That is something that could be presented at trial, and the New York Athletic Commission is an honorable commission, and they will deal with it properly.

“One thing we cannot deny now that is true is that when he beat Devin Haney he had drugs that improve his performance in his program. Therefore, fighting should never have happened. It did, and this is the problem with testing in general. More importantly, the competition should not be accepted.

“He [Ryan] he was over 3 1/2 pounds, and he had PEDs in his body,” Hearn continued about Ryan Garcia. “100% no contest. It was in his plan, but to be withdrawn, you don’t know.”
