Sanjay Manjrekar picks India playing XI for 2024 T20 World Cup

Since i T20 World Cup 2024 methods, discussions about each team’s teams occupy a prominent place in the world of cricket. Analysis Indiamarquee event team, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar shared his views on the ideal playing XI.

India’s opening pair and top order

Manjrekar, speaking at the Star Sports Press Room – T20 World Cup Edition, highlighted his selection of the first two players. Rohit Sharma again Virat Kohli. Despite acknowledging the power of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Manjrekar said the presence of Kohli and Sharma necessitated this combination. He explained that Kohli’s value decreases when he bats at number three and that Rohit needs to open. The decision forces India to stick with two right-handed openers, sidelining the young and promising Jaiswal.

“If you look at the batting order, you can see how it comes out. Two openers: Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli. Unfortunately, there is no place for Yashasvi Jaiswal because Virat will not bat at number three; that is the truth we have accepted. I would like to have Jaiswal if Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are not there, and we can go with a small opening pair. But that won’t happen, so Jaiswal has to stay out. Manjrekar said.

Central schedule for 2024 T20 World Cup

For an intermediate plan, Manjrekar suggested Suryakumar Yadav in number three, it follows Rishabh Pant. He emphasized the importance of Pant, a big game player, in the Indian line-up. Manjrekar believes that Pant should wear India colors at the start of the tournament to build confidence and increase his ability to work under pressure. Pant’s inclusion is important as India have historically struggled in the knockout stages of ICC events.

“At number three, you can get Suryakumar Yadav and then Rishabh Pant. I will start with Rishabh Pant as a wicketkeeper batsman. I want Pant to get into those Indian colors in this tournament as soon as possible because he is a top player. India’s problem at ICC events has been winning a semi-final or a final, and it needs its big-game players to feel good. We know enough about Rishabh Pant; he is a big stage, big pressure, big player,” added the Mumbai-born cricketer.

Rounders

In the all-rounder department, Manjrekar spoke for himself Hardik Pandya. Alongside Pant, Hardik Pandya, another key player, is expected to strengthen the middle order with his batting and finishing skills. Pandya’s versatility as a batsman and bowler makes him very valuable, while Shivam Dube he adds depth with his dual skills. Both players provide balance to the team, contributing in both the batting and bowling departments.

“Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant are the players India should invest heavily in. I will do so. Hardik Pandya will be the sixth bowler. Lack of all players is the least weakness of Team India. If you look at Australia, batsmen like Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, and Cameron Green can bowl four overs in a match. I think that is why the Indian team brought Shivam Dube into the side to reduce the restrictions associated with the lack of all rounders,” The 58-year-old suspect said.

Bowlers

Manjrekar’s ideal XI includes three seamers: Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah again Mohammed Siraj. Bumrah, known for his deadly pace and accuracy, is at the forefront of the attack. Arshdeep brings variety with his left-arm pace, while Siraj’s recent form makes him an integral part of the seam attack.

For the spin department, Manjrekar is selected Ravindra Jadeja again Kuldeep Yadav. Jadeja’s all-round skills and playmaking ability make him a valuable asset, and Kuldeep’s wrist spin adds a different dimension to the swinging attack. This combination of seam and spin bowlers provides a balanced attack that can adapt to different conditions.

“Three seamers: Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Siraj. Two spinners: Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav,” Manjrekar is in charge.
