Novak Djokovic he says the knee surgery “went well” and is now focused on getting back on the court as soon as possible.

The 37-year-old Serbian actor underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee on Wednesday in Paris.

In an Instagram post, Djokovic said the surgery went well and he is focused on recovery.

“A day ago, I had to make difficult decisions after tearing my meniscus in my last match,” Djokovic wrote on social media. “I am still preparing everything but I am happy to inform you that the operation went well.

“I am very grateful to the team of doctors who were with me, and the amazing support I received from my fans.”

Djokovic is unlikely to recover in time for Wimbledon; it is reported that he intends to try to make a comeback in time for the Paris Olympics next month at Roland Garros. However, that would be a huge goal given his knee injury and recovery time. The Paris Olympics are scheduled for July 27-August 4.

Djokovic, who will lose his position at No. 1 to Jannik Sinner when the new ATP rankings are released on Monday, he said his ambition is still high.

“I will do my best to be healthy and ready to return to the court as soon as possible,” said Djokovic. “My love for this sport is strong and the desire to participate in a high level competition is what keeps me going.”
