T20 World Cup 2024, final, Ind vs SA – Everything you need to know about the final

So India and South Africa are like that. How many times have they met in ICC finals? Or a knockout game?
Can they be called the two best teams in this tournament?
Well, one could say that two in-form teams have reached the final. Both India and South Africa are unbeaten in the tournament, and both teams topped their groups in the group stages and in the Super Eight, although South Africa had another win under their belt as India beat Canada.
The winner of the final will be the first team to win the Men’s T20 World Cup undefeated.
Which team took the hard line?
South Africa registered wins over Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, the Netherlands and Nepal in the group stage before defeating the USA and England in the Super Eight. They faced the West Indies in their last Super Eight match, knowing that defeat would see them out, but they managed to win by three wickets in a tight contest that was shortened by rain.
India started their campaign by defeating Ireland, Pakistan and USA. Their perfect record in the group stage was marred by rain as their match against Canada in Lauderhill was washed out. India started the Super Eight stage with big wins against Afghanistan and Bangladesh and ended it by beating Australia.
Looking at the opposition, it can be said that India faced strong teams, they had to beat Pakistan, Australia and England in the semi-finals, but the country team was tested hard in many games but found a way.
Okay, so why was this final a big deal in South Africa?
They have come close many times, reaching the semi-finals in five ODI World Cups (1992, 1999, 2007, 2015, 2023) and the T20 World Cup (2009 and 2014) before this year, but for the first time I got one title win.
And why is it important for India?
When was the last World Cup held in the West Indies?
So what do we know about the field and conditions?
The batsmen went on to win three of the next four matches at the venue, with Scotland racing to 90 not out in 10 overs against England before that match was abandoned. The last two games at Bridgetown saw West Indies and England bowled out by the USA cheaply and ending a comfortable chase.
Wind, will that be a factor?
The semi final between India and England was affected by rain. What’s the weather like for the finals?
According to AccuWeather, there are showers expected, so we may face some disruption. There is about a 50% chance of rain in the morning between 4am and 9am, but that drops to about 30% between 10am (scheduled draw time) and 1pm, when it rises to about 50%. There will be 190 minutes of extra time allocated on Saturday to try and finish the game. Both teams need to bowl at least 10 overs to be declared the winner.
Is there an end date?
Yes, the last one has a set date. The match will be played on Sunday only if at least 10 overs are not played on Saturday or there is extra time. The game, once it starts, will pick up where it left off on Saturday, not start over.
As on match day, the scheduled start of play on the scheduled day is 10.30am local time. There are some showers in the forecast for Sunday as well, although the forecast for game hours is much better (about 20% chance of rain) than expected overnight and later in the day.
What happens if we can’t get the result even after the last day?
If weather prevents the game from being completed even on the scheduled date, both teams will be declared joint winners.
