“I don’t think the batting system is right. Virat Kohli can take the pressure off the No. 3 and finish the game. That is very important for Team India. Yashasvi Jaiswal should open the batting. Kohli should come in 3,” Akmal says in a video on his YouTube channel.

Akmal at the fault of Team India

Akmal stressed that India’s current batting strategy can be dangerous, as evidenced in the recent match against Ireland on Wednesday (June 5). Kohli’s early dismissal after scoring just one run in five balls highlighted the potential pitfalls in his opening role.

“If India stick to this (Kohli’s) opening batting, they may be stuck at some point. Kohli catches one end and ends the match. I think India made a mistake by opening with Kohli,” added Akmal.
