Titleist introduces new GT drivers – soon to be included in the bags of PGA Tour professionals
The elite drivers have been the best among the world’s best players for five years in a row.
Titleist is the most played driver on the PGA TOUR, as it has been since the 2018-19 season and the launch of the Titleist SpeedProject.
The list of players who use the Titleist driver reads like a who’s who of golf: Ludvig Åberg, Wyndham Clark, Brian Harman, Max Homa, Tom Kim, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Cameron Young, Will Zalatoris and other streaming clubs from the major manufacturer. .
That effect extends to amateurs as well, as demonstrated at the NCAA Division I Men’s Championship where more than half the field uses the Titleist driver off the tee.
Titleist was also the most played driver at the NCAA Division I Women’s Championship earlier this year.
The next generation of drivers from Titleist
The next generation of the TOUR’s most popular driver – the Titleist GT – will be unveiled by the Titleist Metalwoods R&D team.
The launch of the new Titleist GT2, GT3 and GT4 drivers marks the start of the tour’s investment and validation process that will continue in the coming weeks and months across the world’s professional tours.
The new Titleist GT fairway metals will once again be compatible with drivers.
Titleist says that working with the game’s best players throughout the R&D process is fundamental to the development of all of their high-performance golf equipment.
“Everything [Titleist Golf Club R&D] the team from top to bottom is passionate about making things the best they can be and has a deep understanding of the PGA TOUR and golfers in general,” said Titleist Brand Ambassador Cameron Young.
“They’ve seen everything, and there’s nothing you can bring to them that can’t be fixed or something they can’t try. They all have extensive mechanical knowledge, there is always a solution to what you are looking for.”
Titleist Tour Representatives will begin working with players at the Memorial, driving them around the new GT models and gathering their performance feedback.
The opening round of the Memorial Championship at Muirfield will mark the first time for players of the new GT metalwoods in competition.
Titleist did not reveal which players, if any, will use these new clubs in a PGA Tour event right off the bat. However, we expect to see these clubs find their way into the wallets of Titleist employees in the near future.
