Tyson Fury reacts to John Fury’s altercation with Oleksandr Usyk’s teammate

THERE was carnage in the first week of the fight in Riyadh as John Fury, Tyson’s father, clashed with a member of Oleksandr Usyk’s team which left him covered in blood.

Both Fury and Usyk have been holding talks throughout Monday at a fight hotel in the Saudi capital ahead of their scheduled clash at the Kingdom Arena on Saturday night.

But things took a turn for the worse when Fury Sr and a member of Usyk’s team went head-to-head in the middle of a packed room. However, footage has since emerged showing John Fury’s head colliding with another member of the Ukrainian team, later named as Stanislav Stepchuk, and the 59-year-old continues to be cut.

His world heavyweight champion son, Tyson, was not present at the time of the incident and later left the interview, looked at his father and said: “What’s going on in your head, you silly c***?

The main room in the hotel was then overflowing with members of both teams and cameras as members of Usyk’s team chanted the name of the fighter and directed at team Fury.

Later, Fury Jr sat down with British media for an interview and was asked his opinion on the situation. But the undefeated heavyweight insisted that this period is not a distraction for him.

“I didn’t see anything,” he said. “I was in the room doing an interview for Sky Sports, but I’m not involved in all that, I’ve come to do work and go home to rest. It’s not a distraction.

“They’re doing what they’re doing, I’ve certainly seen worse than a cut on the head.”

John Fury explained the dispute and apologized for his actions. Speaking later Debate News he said: “Emotions run high, men step on each other, that happens. Testosterone, right? And I’m full of it, from my books to the top of my head.

At the end of the day, if it’s a fight, I’m there first. We live for it. Let me tell you, when you’re in John Fury’s face, and you’re not ready to go and give your best shot, I’ll be all over you. You have already seen that. I don’t care.”
