The 38-year-old former manager of Burnley, who were relegated to the Championship with the Clarets this season, was appointed as Thomas Tuchel’s replacement earlier this week.
Zinchenko and the former Manchester City defender briefly shared the pitch at the Etihad, with Bayern rumored to be looking for alternatives at left-back amid the possibility that Alphonso Davies could leave soon.
According to The Mirror, Bayern are eyeing the Arsenal left back, who is now third choice behind Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jakub Kiwior at the Emirates Stadium.
After signing for Arsenal two years ago, Zinchenko quickly established himself as a fans’ favorite by playing the inverted left-back position that catapulted the Gunners into title contention.
The 27-year-old has started 20 of 27 Premier League games, 23/24 in 32 games since then due to injury and poor form.
The former Manchester City man has two years left on his contract at the Emirates, but Arsenal are not thought to be holding renewal talks at the moment.
The Gunners have signed a number of key players to new contracts.
Furthermore, Arteta put Zinchenko on for just 49 minutes in two of Arsenal’s last six games of the season.
Zinchenko should consider leaving Arsenal
With Jurrien Timber back to full health, the road back to the starting lineup for Zinchenko looks tougher than ever.
A move away from the Emirates Stadium to join his former club Kompany would benefit the Ukrainian defender.
His career could start again in a new position where he could get more playing time and first-team opportunities than under Arteta.
He would like to replace Davies, who is also known for his attacking ability and pace.
