Xavi challenges the president of Barcelona to explain the reasons for his dismissal

Xavi challenged the president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, to reveal the reasons for his upcoming exit.

Less than a month after reversing his decision to retire this summer, Xavi was sacked from his job on Friday after public criticism of the club’s attitude angered Laporta.

Xavi, however, will remain in charge of the final game of the season against Sevilla on Sunday, before sitting in front of the media in his pre-match press conference.

When asked what explanation Laporta gave him for his decision, Xavi denied and said: “I think it is a question he must answer because the reasons are his, not mine, he must explain himself.

“The president told me the reasons why he believes the club needs a change of direction and I can respect it. From here on, I am a man of the club. We shook hands, we hugged, we wished each other luck. And,” from here on, I will be just another fan.

“They decided that the club needs a change of direction. I have to accept it, respect it and wish them the best. I was still motivated, excited and enthusiastic. Obviously I wanted to change some things. But it was possible. It wasn’t.”

Xavi went on to confirm that he has not yet agreed to the terms of his compensation, but insisted: “Don’t talk about this, this will not be a problem.”

Although he was disappointed by this decision, Xavi insisted that he has no hard feelings towards those in charge and even admitted that he could return to Camp Nou in the future.

“I’m fine,” he said. “Obviously, those were difficult days, it was not easy, but I have a clear conscience.

“I’m proud, I’m happy. I’ve been here for two and a half years. It wasn’t an easy time. But I think we can be proud of the work we’ve done. From here on, I have clear clarity. Conscience We gave everything. We understood things that were strange because of the situation of the club. I’m proud of the experience. It was an honor and a pleasure to be the coach of Barca .

“I would like to come back. Why not? I like to be at Barca and work at Barca. I am not closing the door and I hope we will have the chance to come back. You will never imagine this goodbye, but I am a coach and it is possible. I have to respect it, I try to understand it and that’s it.”
