South Africa clinched a spot in the semi finals of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 after defeating our partners The West Indies by three wickets in a rain-interrupted match at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.

Chasing a revised target

The country will face the second-placed team in Group One, while England will compete against frozen snow. The semi-final is scheduled for Thursday, June 27, while the final will be held on June 29. The opponents will be decided following the last two Super 8 matches – India vs Australia and Afghanistan vs Bangladesh on June 24.

Tabraiz Shamsi, who was selected as the best player, emphasized the team’s resilience and ability to secure victory in various challenging situations throughout the tournament. He admitted that while fans may prefer more wins, these tough games keep the team strong and focused, showing their ability to overcome adversity and thrive under pressure.

“We keep finding a way to win these games no matter what the situation is. Our supporters would probably like a big win. But things like this keep us in awe and we’ve been able to win these moments throughout the tournament,” Shamsi said after the game
