Who can bring the mystique of Long Beach State back to the world of college baseball?
That’s the question on everyone’s mind as the Dirtbags continue their search for a new coach to replace Bryan Peters, who was interim coach and is not retained through the 2025 season. Peters replaces Eric Valenzuela, who left Long Beach State for Saint Mary’s after finishing seventh in the Big West Conference.
Overall, the Dirtbags haven’t reached the College World Series since 1998, and haven’t won a Regional since 2017. So, bringing this program back to its glory days will be difficult, but difficult.[…]
